'Teddy Bear Toss' Donation Planned For Saturday

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron Athletics Department will hold its second-annual "Teddy Bear Toss" on Saturday when the men's basketball team plays host to North Carolina Central at 7 p.m. EST in Rhodes Arena.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or other type of stuffed animal to the game, and then throw it onto the court at halftime. All stuffed animals will be collected and donated to the Salvation Army and Akron Children's Hospital. UA Athletics donated over 300 stuffed animals last season and hopes to surpass that number this year.
