to defeat the Zips at home was Kent State in a 57-54 decision on
Feb. 9, 2005.
• Akron finished with seven blocks for the game, one shy of
its season high. Six of the Zips' rejections came in the first
half.

margin this season. At home, Akron is edging its opponents by a
22.1-point spread.

Broncos combined to shoot 25.9 percent (14-for-54).
• Western Michigan had more turnovers (6) than field goals (5)
at the intermission. The Zips held the Broncos to 13 first-half
points, the lowest point total posted by an Akron opponent this
season.
• WMU didn't record its first field goal until the 12:39 mark
of the first half. Until that point, the Broncos were 0-for-8 from
the floor with two turnovers and trailed 12-1.
• Akron's 24 first-half points was its second-lowest opening
period total of the season (23 vs. Miami, Jan. 11).
• UA, which averaged 17.9 free throw attempts entering today's
game, was 3-for-4 from the line.
Player Notes:
• Senior F
Romeo Travis moved into
16th place on the school's al-time scoring list with a 17-point
effort against the Broncos. Travis, who has tallied 1,263 points in
108 games at UA, surpassed Fritz Nagy (1943-47), who recorded 1,258
points in 63 games.
• Travis has scored in double figures in 16 games this season
(12 consecutive) and has hit that mark 70 times in 108 career
games.
• Junior F

career-high with 17 rebounds. His four assists tied for the team
high, along with
Cedrick Middleton and
Nick Dials, and was one
short of another personal milestone.
