Women’s Golf Finishes Tied for 15th at Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Akron women's golf team concluded day three in a three-way tie for 15th place at the 2012 Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic on Tuesday.

The Zips carded a round of 315 (+27) to finish the day with a three-day score of 931 (+67) to finish tied with Longwood and Georgetown. Augusta State won the event with a score of 877 (+13).

Senior Kristen Hill posted a score of 4-over 76 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for sixth place with a three-day total of 4-over 220. The finish is the second-consecutive top-10 finish for her at the event after finishing tied for fifth place last spring.

Sara Johansson and Katie Jenior concluded the week tied for 101st place with scores of 22-over 238. Jenior fired a round of 77 (+5) while Johansson closed the day with a 12-over 84.

Laura Murray finished the afternoon with a score of 6-over 78, bringing her three-round total to 23-over 239.

Amanda Butler rounds out the scoring five in a tie for 162nd place with a total score of 253 (+37). Butler finished the day with a round of 84 (+12).

The Zips return to action on March 9 when they travel to Rio Verde, Ariz., for the Rio Verde Invitational (March 9-11).
