Akron Softball Doubleheader at St. Francis (Pa.) Cancelled

AKRON, Ohio – The doubleheader between the Akron softball team and St. Francis (Pa.) scheduled for Tuesday in Loretto, Pa., has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

The Zips (13-22-1, 0-8 MAC) and the Red Flash (14-18, 4-6 NEC) were scheduled to take the field at 3 p.m. ET for game one of the twin bill. However, the threat of rain led to the teams to cancel both games.

Both schools are working on the possibility of rescheduling the doubleheader, but no date has been set.

The Zips will continue MAC play on Saturday, April 14, when they travel to Athens, Ohio, to face the Ohio Bobcats. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. The series will conclude on Sunday at 1 p.m.
