AKRON, Ohio – Season tickets for the much anticipated 2012 University of Akron men's soccer fall schedule, including additional reserved seats available to select fans for the first time, are on sale now, the UA Department of Athletics announced Thursday.
For the third consecutive season, the Zips will be offering new reserved seats at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field in an effort to meet a demand that has seen the grandstand of the facility sell out in each of thelast two years.
For the first time in 2012, fans who qualify will be able to purchase season tickets in the west-end bleacher section (located on the scoreboard side of the facility) for $100 – including a $15 donation to the Z-FUND – in a special presale that rewards UA's most loyal backers and soccer supporters.
Fans eligible to participate in the presale, which expires on May 1, include current Z-FUND and/or Varsity "A" members, 2011-12 UA season ticket holders in any sport, 2011 men's soccer single-game ticket purchasers and UA faculty/staff. Any remaining seats will be sold on a first-come basis following the presale period.

Union streets) Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Once again, those who purchase a men's soccer season ticket package will receive one complimentary Akron Soccer scarf, which is exclusive to season ticketholders (one per season ticket) while supplies last.
Excitement for Akron soccer has never been greater, following the team's national championship run in 2010. The Zips, who have finished in the top six in average attendance among all Division I programs in each of the last two seasons, broke the all-time single-game record twice at First Energy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field a year ago and averaged 3,300 fans over 12 homes games in total.
After drawing 5,241 for its 5-0 shutout of Cleveland State in the season opener, nearly 6,000 fans (5,819) set a facility record to witness a 3-1 victory over in-state rival Ohio State.
As a result, there are now five options for men's soccer season ticket at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field, including chair-back and bleacher-back reserved seating, general admission and the family plan.
Chair-back seating - located in the first three rows of the grandstand nearest the field - allows fans to watch in comfort right alongside the action and may be purchased for $150, which includes a $50 donation to the Z-FUND. Bleacher-back seating - which is located in the second tier of the grandstand - gives fans a more elevated view of the field and may be purchased for $110,which includes a $25 donation to the Z-FUND. Both chair-back and bleacher-back seating sold out in 2011, and renewal invoices were mailed two weeks ago and are due by June 1.
A general admission season ticket guarantees access to every home match and can be purchased for $75.
Finally, the family plan, which includes a combination of general admissiontickets for either two adults and two youth general admission tickets or one adult and three youth general admission tickets, can be purchased for $200.Youth are classified as age 3-14. Those who purchase season family plans will receive four complimentary scarves and have the opportunity to register their youth to be a ball kid. Additional youth admissions can be added to a family plan at a prorated amount of $50 per season ticket.
All Akron women's soccer season tickets are general admission and can be purchased for $40. Or, for greater value, fans can once again just add a women's season ticket to any individual men's season ticket for just $20 or to a men's Family Plan for just $40 with an All-Soccer Season Ticket.
In addition to guaranteed access to each UA soccer match this fall, becoming a soccer season ticket holder comes with a number of added benefits, including the first right to purchase postseason tickets and access to a number of exclusive pre-game gatherings.
