The University of Akron Athletics
Varsity A Hall of Fame Nomination Form
The Akron Athletics Department extends an invitation for you to nominate individuals or teams for the Varsity "A" Hall of Fame. All nominations will be thoroughly considered when the Hall of Fame Committee convenes to review candidates for the 2024 class.
Eligibility Requirements for the Hall of Fame:
1. Student-Athletes:
• Must have earned at least one varsity letter.
• Should be at least five (5) years removed from the last date of competition for UA.
2. Teams:
• Should be at least five (5) years removed from the last date of competition for UA.
• Must have achieved significant milestones (e.g., Conference/National Championship) to enhance the reputation and legacy of Akron Athletics.
3. Coach/Administrator:
• Must have served a minimum of five (5) years and be at least five (5) years removed from service at UA.
• Former student-athletes at UA who are coaches and/or administrators will have their entire athletic record and overall contribution to the University considered by the Committee.
Mike Krino Varsity “A” Achievement Award:
• This award is presented as merited, to any former University of Akron varsity letterwinner who has reached a high level of achievement in their occupational field.
• Must have participated in Akron Athletics varsity programs.
• Should be at least five (5) years removed from the last date of competition for UA.
The Kenneth “Red” Cochrane Meritorious Service Award:
• This award is presented as merited, to an individual who has made major contribution or service for the betterment of Akron Athletics.
• Must have consistently made significant contributions to Akron Athletics.
• Attendance at UA as a student is not mandatory.

• Online nominations are strongly preferred. The nomination form can be found below.
• If online submission is not possible, nomination information can be printed out and sent to the Akron Athletics Department by mail.
