Six Akron Zips Named to Athlon’s Preseason All-MAC List

2018 Season Tickets | Full Athlon All-MAC selections
AKRON, Ohio – Six University of Akron football players have been named to Athlon Sports' 2018 preseason All-Mid-American Conference teams, the magazine announced on Monday.
Earning preseason first-team All-MAC were seniors DE Jamal Davis II (Canton, Ohio) and LB Ulysees Gilbert III (Ocala, Fla.).
Second-team honorees were senior CB Kyron Brown (Boynton Beach, Fla.), junior CB Alvin Davis, Jr. (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), and senior P Nick Gasser (Liberty Township, Ohio).
Named to the preseason third-team was senior OL Kyle Ritz (Willoughby, Ohio).
Under the guidance of seventh-year head coach Terry Bowden, Akron returns 58 letterwinners, including 15 starters, to its spread offense and 4-3 defense. The Zips open the 2018 season at Nebraska on Sept. 1. The home opener is slated for Sept. 8 with Morgan State.
Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all home games and the "I love the 90's" concert as well as a parking pass— start at only $60 each. As a season ticket holder, fans have the ability to purchase tickets for road games at Nebraska, Northwestern, and Iowa State.
