AUSTIN, Texas – University of Akron junior Dara Perry (Akron, Ohio) ran a school-record time of 13.11 en route to placing second in the women's 100-meter hurdle invitational to headline the Zips' efforts on the final day of the 91st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday, March 31.
Perry's effort shattered her own school-record time of 13.53 set at the 2016 Mid-American Conference Championships on May 14, 2016, and sits as the eighth-fastest time in the country this season.
Redshirt junior Jordan Latimer (Huber Heights, Ohio) registered a career-best mark of 25-8.25 (7.83m), the fourth-longest jump in outdoor program history, to finish sixth in the event. Equaling the performance and placing seventh with a season-best leap of 25-8.25 (7.83) was senior Terrell McClain (Youngstown, Ohio).
Junior Matt Ludwig (Chardon, Ohio) finished sixth in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 18-0.50 (5.50m), while junior Curtis Richardson (Blacklick, Oho) placed seventh in the men's high jump eclipsing 6-9.75 (2.08m).
The women's 4x400 relay team of seniors Daziah Green (Canton, Ohio), Patricia Ortega (Logrono, Spain) and Jackie Siefring (Covington, Ohio) and sophomore Bailey Lack (Brunswick, Ohio) recorded a season-best time of 3:42.66 en route to earning a seventh-place finish.
Additionally, junior Lucy Bryan (Bristol, England) posted the second-best jump in outdoor program history in the women's pole vault surpassing 14-3.25 (4.35m), a career-best outdoor mark, to finish ninth. Junior Abigale Wilson (Carrollton, Ohio) registered 10th- and 12th-place efforts in the women's discus and shot put with marks of 160-10 (49.03m) and 42-11 (13.08m).
Akron returns to competition hosting the Northeast Ohio Quad on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7, at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex.
