SAN MARCOS, Texas – The University of Akron track and field team garnered three career-best marks on the final day of the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State on Saturday, March 31.
Sophomore Dylan Hochbein (Sarver, Pa.) and redshirt sophomore Preston Fillman (Hanoverton, Ohio) recorded career-long throws of 35-11.25 (10.95m) and 30-10.50 (9.41m) in the men's shot put.
In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Dylan Hochbein crossed the line eighth in 14.80, while sophomore Brandon Hochbein (Sarver, Pa.) added a career-best time of 15.39.
The men's 4x400 relay team of Fillman, Brandon Hochbein, Dylan Hochbein and junior Kamar Majid (Akron, Ohio) crossed the line in 3:27.04, while sophomore Marcques Gibbs (Darby, Pa.) placed 12th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 44-4.25 (13.52m).
Akron returns to competition hosting the Northeast Ohio Quad on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7, at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex.
