CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The 11th-ranked University of Akron rifle team registered a pair of triumphs at the Beanpot Tournament on Sunday (Feb. 4) besting MIT, 4700-4322, and Norwich, 4700-4304.

Senior Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) earned top-gun honors in smallbore with a 585 score, while junior Rachel Engels (Meridian, Idaho) kept up her winning ways with the air rifle by leading the team with a 594 mark.

Sophomore Rachael Paddock (Perry, N.Y.) smashed her smallbore career-best record of 580 and replaced it with a 584 which places her in the No. 2 slot in the match smallbore rankings. Combined with her air rifle (also 584) she set a new two-gun total of 1158.

Akron hosts Ole Miss on Senior Day on Saturday (Feb. 10) at 9 a.m.
