Zips Athletics has enjoyed great success, which has led to unprecedented visibility and positive exposure for The University of Akron. As a result, more fans than ever are purchasing season tickets, and the Z-Fund has grown to more than 3,000 members. While the potential of our teams is unlimited, unfortunately, the numbers of tickets and parking spaces we can offer is not. This growth makes it necessary to have a method for distributing and allocating tickets, parking, and other Z-Fund benefits.
The Priority Points Program is designed to reward longevity and generosity to the University, its Department of Athletics, and the Z-Fund. It will determine Z-Fund benefits such as parking, new season ticket requests, requests for seat upgrades, seating at away games, postseason tournaments, and bowl games.
The Priority Points Program was developed for four reasons:
- To improve overall equity in the allocation of priority benefits.
- To recognize those who have purchased season tickets, given consistently over significant periods of time, increased their annual gifts, and/or made capital project or endowment gifts.
- To help new donors obtain seats commensurate with their annual gifts and overall contributions to the Z-Fund.
- To aid in the eventual reseating of venues when the time comes.
