AKRON, Ohio – Three members of the Akron women's swimming and diving team will compete in the NCAA Zone "C" Diving Meet that will be held at Indiana University's Counsilman-Billingsley Aqautic Center, Thursday, March 9-Saturday, March 11 in Bloomington, Ind.

The three Zips competing this weekend are senior Rachel Aepelbacher (Novi, Mich.), sophomore Karly Crail (Edgewood, Ky.) and senior Paige Kelkenberg (Lockport, N.Y.).

All divers will take part in preliminaries with the top 18 advancing to the finals. The score from the finals is added to the preliminary score to determine final placing.

The top eight divers in the one-meter and the top nine in the three-meter events will qualify for the NCAA Championships that will be held, March 15-18 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Kelkenberg took second in one-meter diving at the 2017 MAC Championships with a tally of 291.90 points, while Crail placed 11th and Aepelbacher finished 14th in the event.

In three-meter diving, Aepelbacher placed eighth with a score of 274.20 points, while Kelkenberg posted a score of 259.60 to take 15th.

The three-meter dive is slated for Thursday, March 9, at 1 p.m. and the one-meter event will be held on Friday, March 10, at 1 p.m.
